Instrumental in safe development of the Air Ambulance industry in the UK throughout his history in Engineering and Maintenance roles with Bond Helicopters and subsequently Bond Onshore Helicopters, Avincis, and then Babcock MCS Onshore and latterly as Technical Director for Babcock MCS (Mission Critical Services)
Dave was a major voice in OEM reliability programme development, driving product development initiatives across BO105, EC135 and H145 aircraft, engines and equipment.
Strong advocate and reference point for aviation safety improvement initiatives, including helicopter fuel system architecture and resilience.
Formative in the development and continuous improvement of power by the hour support contracts.
Known for his immediate reaction to a safety problem, launching and co-ordinating cross industry fleet checks and guiding OEM’s on Alert Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.
Provided technical advice on multiple Safran maturity and performance enhancing Technical Upgrades, including but in no way limited to; TU 205 which corrected entry into service issued for the Arriel 2E, and early stages of TU 165 the initial containment of Arrius 2B2 Free Turbine Blade ruptures.
