Eric Brown Award 2023

Eric Brown Award 2023

Angie joined the heliport back in the mid 90’s as a receptionist, as she settled into family life she left in Nov 1997 to support her husband as he relocated to Bermuda on a contract.

The family returned to the UK, and in 2004 Angie returned to the Heliport as Operations Assistant. She progressed to become Heliport Manager in July 2021, before retiring in August of this year, having given over 20 years service to the Industry.

Her dedication, loyalty and hard work should not go unnoticed, she has always been a welcoming face for crews, ops staff and passengers alike, her flexible and helpful approach has throughout her years at Battersea been appreciated by many.

Battersea has seen many changes of ownership and indeed the building and layout itself has changed, it has often been challenging for everyone who uses the facility but having someone with her knowledge and experience to smooth the way and find solutions is a testament to her.

Prior to joining the Heliport, Angie lead the all-female Parachute Team for the Daily & Sunday Express Flying Crusaders Air Display Team, which formed in 1988 and was managed by CB Helicopters, the team which included initially a Pitts Special, Islander – banner towing aircraft, hot air balloon and helicopter pleasure flights toured the UK for 5 years promoting the newspaper.

It would be a fitting end to her career in aviation to see her receive this prestigious award.
